PORTRAITS

This portrait was taken by Amanda Chapman found at http://jpgmag.com/people/amandachapman
this portrait shows a lot of emotion in the girls eyes, although it was most likely photoshopped (but it doesnt really look like it was, other than the glow it has).
I think her hand being up by her face gives more depth to the picture because it almost makes us focus on just her eyes.  You would think the hand would be distracting, but I didn't even notice it at first because I was so drawn to her eyes.

This portrait shows this girls personality and energy.  The first portrait shows us, not to be cheesy, the girls "soul" through her eyes.  This portrait gives us a basic idea about what kind of girl this girl is.

This portrait was taken in Tokyo (said on right side of page at original posting site http://www.flickr.com/photos/mbphotography/1577334190/ )
and Tokyo's younger crowd is extremely influenced by this harajuku type of style, and this shows this girls take on the style and her uniqueness.  The colors provide contrast, and there is also value because the black and purple (which is pretty dark compared to the white) make the whiteness of her face really stand out and your attention first goes to her eyes and then you see everything else, like the purple hair :).
